If you’ve visited Walt Disney World I’m sure you know there are photographers stationed throughout the parks at strategic locations as well as ride photos offered – you know; right when you’re plunging down Splash Mountain or your elevator car is being dropped on Tower of Terror.

PhotoPass
This kind of photography has come a long way since being handed a ticket and lining up to look at photos at the end of the day. Now, you can view, share and order photos online at DisneyPhotoPass.com.
When a photographer at Walt Disney World takes your photo, instead of receiving a paper claim ticket, you receive a Disney PhotoPass that links all your vacation photos together into one online account for easy online viewing and sharing. You use one PhotoPass for their entire vacation or get a new PhotoPass each time you have your photo taken. Disney’s PhotoPass is a service offered to Walt Disney World visitors at no additional charge. What you pay for are the photos you choose at a later time.

Memory Maker
Guests can also pay a one-time fee for access to every photo taken with Memory Maker.
On a recent trip my family purchased Memory Maker for $169. If you pay within three days of your visit or at the resort, the fee is $199.
Memory Maker includes:
- Unlimited digital downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass photos and videos
- Select attraction photos and videos
- Select character dining photos
- Discounts on prints of your photos
- Magic Shots – featuring Disney Characters and more, added to your photos
- Digital borders and stickers to personalize your photos

We visited all four theme parks – Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Not only did the photographers take exceptional and creative photos, they were also set up for great night photos; photos the average person couldn’t create. Plus, this ensured every member of the family was in the picture and we didn’t have to ask a stranger to take the photo.

Magic Band
Another plus; if you are staying on property and are wearing your Magic Band (or you purchase a Magic Band for your visit), your ride photos are also sent to your account automatically. When a photographer takes your photo, they scan the Magic Band.

In the end we received more than 700 photos including special event photos from the time you were at Walt Disney World.
I can highly recommend Memory Maker. Capturing your Disney memories is so complete; there’s no need to bring a camera along when you visit!

Great post! Thanks for all the info! Dreaming about visiting Walt Disney and hopefully, I’ll go travel there in 2018!
I had such a fantastic time!!! Make sure and go when there aren’t so many people. We were there the week before Christmas which was a good time. September is another good time to go with kids in school and the snow birds still up North. You will have such a great time!!
The Memory Maker sounds like a reasonable expense, especially for a family. It would appear to keep you from having to carry around your own camera, since 700 pictures would be plenty for about anyone. Thanks for sharing this helpful tip. Safe travels!
You’re right; you really wouldn’t need to carry your own camera. I did out of habit though! I was impressed with the instantaneous feature as well. Minutes after the photographer took the photo, you could see it on a phone app. Safe travels to you too!!
The Memory Maker program does indeed look like a great option for families, Marilyn. You’ve got the cutest granddaughter in the world! Happy New Year, and wishing you many more great trips!
I certainly thought is was worth the price. I am never in photos because I am always the photographer. It was nice to be in a few. And thank you!! My granddaughter loved Walt Disney World. She turns three in two weeks. 🙂

Memory Maker – that’s what it’s all about really. What an excellent use of modern technology! You can concentrate on just enjoying the experience and pick the photos you want after. It would be great if it were that easy everywhere – no more selfie sticks poking up in every photo you want to take. 😉
I didn’t even think about selfie sticks, but you are so right! I’m usually never in the photos because I am taking them. It was fun to look through the photos after the trip and actually be in them!!

Very interesting. Somehow I’ve missed registering that the parks together are called Walt Disney World. And I’ve never heard of this PhotoPass option, which is quite clever and useful.
It was a fantastic option. There were photographers everywhere making it convenient to get photo memories easily! And yes; the entire property — four theme parks, water parks, hotels, etc. — are all part of Walt Disney World. We had so much fun we’re already planning our next trip!
Wow, this is such a great service. So worth it. Thanks for the info. I hope they make them available in all Disney locations! And other parts should follow this example.
I was very impressed with the service and the availability of photographers. They even added several videos; very creative ones.
I’ve never been to Disneyland but I can see that Memory Maker would enhance the experience. It’s sometimes difficult to enjoy yourself if you’re focused on taking pictures and, like you, I’m hardly ever in the pictures myself!
I’m not sure if Disneyland offers it, but it’s very popular at Walt Disney World. I hadn’t been back to WDW in 10 years…this time with a granddaughter in tow. I had such a great time! I am sure you too would enjoy either Disneyland or WDW!! It truly makes you feel like a kid again!

What a neat idea! Technology sure has advanced since the time I last visited a Disney park! By the way, your grand daughter is adorable! That must have been a fun trip~
It was so much easier than asking a stranger to take a family picture. Although I lugged my camera around, I wouldn’t have had to; the Disney photographers were everywhere! And thank you; Ainsley was so much fun. She loved every moment!
I haven’t been to a Disney park in years, and I avoided those photographers because they charged so much for the photos. Memory Maker, though, sounds worth it if you’re traveling with a group. It would be incentive to get them to take photos, check them on your phone, and get them to take more if necessary. And it would save you from having to take a camera besides the one in your phone.
Exactly! Almost as soon as the photographer took the photos they were on my daughter’s phone. And the photographers knew how to pose people and get their shots lined up for exposures, etc. Another plus is they are now all on my computer and I can use them anyway I choose; to print or make a digital scrapbook.
I just love the Tinkerbell shot! What a great setup to get a great set of photo memories.
Tinkerbell is my sweet granddaughter. She turns three in a week. We had such a great time at Walt Disney World!
This is such a terrific idea! It would really save a lot of time and hopefully, you’d get great quality photos from professionals. I’d try it.
I was impressed with the photographers. They were patient and professional, and were set up in ideal locations.
This sounds pretty cool. The Memory Maker sounds like a good deal. Over 700 photos! You’re right too. No need to bring a camera even though it would kill my hubby not to :-). Having your own photographer at such a fun place is priceless. Thanks for sharing.
I was very impressed with Memory Maker from the number of photographers ready to take photos at key locations to the quality of the photos!! I’m like your hubby though; I had my camera in tow!! 🙂
What a fabulous idea for most people (we are in Australia) this is a one-off visit and to not have to worry about taking photos and just enjoy the experience would make the price well worthwhile. The photos you got were beautiful
You’re right; we could just enjoy the experience and not worry about getting photos!! I am very happy with the photos we received.
I love Disneyland! Greatest place to make beautiful memories
Me too! I can’t wait to go back!!

I can easily recommend it. I was very impressed with the photographers. They were all over the parks!!
